EQUIPMENT COLLECTION & DONATION
PROGRAMS
EQUIPMENT COLLECTION
Softball equipment can be expensive and it is hard to practice and become a better player if you do not have your own equipment. That is why Stay in Softball collects used equipment to give to girls or teams that may not have the resources to buy their own. Whether it is a bat, a mitt, cleats or old balls, if it is still usable, there is a player who would love to have it.
Used Equipment Drives
Our Advisory Board members and volunteers work overtime on some tournament weekends, hosting SIS Used Equipment Drives at tournaments their organizations are hosting. We provide advanced notice to participating teams and ask that players consider bringing any gently used equipment they no longer need to the tournament with them. If your organization is interested in hosting a SIS Used Equipment Drive at your tournament, please contact us. We provide flyers, publicize your event, provide a collection bin and pick up the equipment. If you want to do a drive and keep the equipment in your community, that is great too- we will still publicize your event if you let us know about it.
Collection Sites
Do you have equipment but don't want to wait to donate it? Please consider taking it to one of our Used Equipment Drop Off Sites. Current Drop off sites are:
SPC Sports 931 Mentor Ave. Mentor, OH 44060
AB Pitching Academy 2420 Wedgewood Dr. Akron, OH 44312
Longball Sports 38167 Airport Parkway Willoughby, OH 44094
Nicki Hufford Photography 367 High St NE, Warren, OH 44481
If you are a business that would like to add a Stay in Softball used equipment collection bin, please contact us. We will provide the collection bin, signage and publicize your business and collection site on our website and Facebook page.
Donation Pick Up
If you or your organization has a large amount of gently used equipment to donate, we can make arrangements to pick it up. Please contact us at [email protected]. We collect most anything used by softball players and still in good condition: bats, gloves, catching equipment, training aids, tees, balls, cleats, facemasks, helmets and uniform items (pants, socks, belts). Due to storage space issues, we do not collect bags. Uniform items, helmets and cleats should be new or very gently used.
Team Drives
Is your team or any of your players looking for a service project? If, so consider doing a SIS Used Equipment Drive. We provide flyers, publicize your event, provide a collection bin and pick up the equipment. If you are interested, please contact us at [email protected].
UPCOMING COLLECTIONS
- our 2024 Summer Equipment Drives will be posted on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
EQUIPMENT DONATION PROGRAM
SIS collects used softball equipment and solicits companies and other sponsors for new equipment to donate to teams and players who may otherwise not be able to afford it. We distribute the equipment at the free clinics and also take requests for equipment donations from coaches and instructors on behalf of teams and individual players.
School Team Donations
We are currently taking assistance requests from high school and middle school teams for the upcoming school season. In order to help us help as many schools and players as possible, please use the contact form on the bottom of this page if you would like to be considered for assistance for the upcoming season.
Things we can do include:
1. Bringing our used equipment bins to your school so players in need can pick out their own bat, glove, cleats, helmets, etc.
2. Provide gently used or new team equipment such as catching equipment, tees, balls, etc.
3. Provide gently used or new black uniform pants for teams that can not afford uniforms. We can also assist a limited number of teams with new uniform items such as socks and belts.
4. Provide a limited number of teams with field equipment such as liner, bases, pitching strips, etc.
If you or your team is in need of equipment, please contact us using the form below to see if we can help.
Individual Player Donations
We take equipment donation requests for players on a year-round basis and requests are not limited to players located in OH or surrounding states. It is helpful, but not necessary, to have the request come from a coach or league official. The requests are considered on a case by case basis. To request assistance, please use the Equipment Contact Form below.
League, Non Profit and Community Group Donations
We consider requests for equipment from leagues, charities and community groups (such as Boys and Girls Clubs, Recreation Centers in low income areas, etc.). The requests are considered on a case by case basis and depend on availability of the items requested. To request assistance, please use the Equipment Contact Form below.
