November 2015 | Stay in Softball is "Pitching it for Heaven"
Heaven Harris is a 13 year old softball player from the Sylacauga Dixie Softball league. In November, 2015 Heaven was involved in an accident that resulted in the amputation of her right arm. Heaven was the starting pitcher, first baseman and hitter (right handed) for her Ponytails X-Play team which went to the AL state finals this past summer. Heaven has recuperated from the accident and has no plans of giving up softball. She is working with a coach who is also an amputee to learn how to pitch, field and hit one handed. She has already made tremendous progress and her "never give up" attitude is an inspiration to everyone around her.
Stay in Softball is helping secure donations to assist Heaven with some of her softball expenses so that she can continue to Stay in Softball. We are also helping spread the word about Heaven and hopefully bring awareness to her journey and encourage others to support her as well. You can read more about Heaven and watch videos of her practicing with her new coach at our Facebook site: Facebook.com/stayinsoftball You can also follow Heaven's Facebook site at Facebook.com/pitchitforheaven There is also a Go Fund Me Page for Heaven entitled "Heaven's Fund" at https://www.gofundme.com/auc7bx7t Please consider supporting Heaven so she can Stay in Softball! |
