October 27, 2015 | SIS & Ohio Stampede Sponsors Howard Kobata Players & Coaches Clinic
|
On October 27th, Stay in Softball and the Ohio Stampede sponsored a free defensive skills clinic coached by Howard Kobata. At the clinic, Howard led twelve girls age 7-11 through a number of fielding drills in order to help them become quicker and more efficient defensive players. Area rec team coaches were invited to send players and also invited to attend the clinic so they could see the common fielding mistakes that beginners make and how Howard corrects them. Howard also helped teach the Stay in Softball players how to assist beginning players with Kobata-style drills so that they are more effective teachers and assistants at future SIS Free Softball Clinics.
The girls had a great time and learned so much from Howard! SIS would like to thank the Ohio Stampede for inviting Howard to Ohio and providing SIS with the opportunity to offer such a valuable clinic. SIS would also like to thank Howard for such a great clinic! As always, everyone who attended learned a lot. Video of the clinic can be found on our Facebook site: Facebook.com/stayinsoftball. Furthermore, coaches who are interested in video of some of the drills from the clinic can contact us ([email protected]) and we will forward it to you. |
